A New Messenger for Industrial Energy Efficiency

As you know, the messenger can be just as important as the message itself. "Energy efficiency" has been tirelessly promoted by government agencies, utilities, and non-profits for years. The industrial sector's reaction has been cautious, at best, for a variety of reasons discussed in earlier blog posts.

Now, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), which is the manufacturing sector's national policy advocate, is promoting energy efficiency to its members. A memorandum of understanding was enacted today with the U.S. Department of Energy's Industrial Technologies Program. A press release announces this partnership.

Kudos to NAM leadership for taking on the messenger role. The partnership with DOE is intended to make the treasure chest of DOE energy best practice documentation available to industry. NAM members can only stand to benefit.
